I was actually about to post thread on this as well, though was going to ask (sorry to hijack thread) is it better than the 4wd show in Nov.?
I was unable to make the show in Nov, though the chef and I will most likely make the trek north to the show.
any tips for attending the show? ;D

It states it has more than 250 exhibitors from all over Australia to offer a unique shopping experience across all areas of Caravanning and Camping including 4WD Accessories, 5th Wheelers, Automotive Accessories, Caravans, Boating, Camper/Tent Trailers, Camping Equipment, Clothing and Associated Clubs and Tourism Destinations.

I like the 4WD show too as they are almost two different audiences  :D

We'll be there, if you see any salesmen taking a deep breath after checking to see if the last tyre kickers are out of ear shot, you'll know you just missed us  ;D

Cheers,
Craig & Nikki

After attending both shows with kids and handbrake in tow "we" found that the caravan and camping show had a lot more gear on offer for us and it was only"Roothy & Graham" that made the 4wd show worth attending. Majority of 4wd show exhibitors are at the caravan & camping show anyway. I find the show grounds easier to get around the vendors and also find the restrooms lol.

I've managed to negotiate an entire day leave pass from SWMBO for Friday 16th (...but I'm sure there are strings attached... there are always strings attached   ;D >:D)

This year I'm going with a mate who's thinking of transitioning from a caravan to a CT (probably a Trak Shak) - so if you see a bloke walking around at the show with a little Angel hovering over one shoulder and a little Devil on the other (that looks a little like me) - stop and say g'day  ;D

We'll be going. Day not sure yet, but probably also the Friday, avoid the weekend crowds.
How is the parking? Expensive? (any tips)

While the parking is free, it's definitely worth getting there as early as possible.... it's a long walk in from Siberia otherwise  ;D

Park at one of the small suburban train stations on the Fremantle line, eg Grant St (park near North Cottesloe primary school) catch the train for two stations and it pulls up at the show ground gate. Walk straight in.  Easy peasy  :cup:

"character", that's what it is....

:D

have you had a go with the WDH yet?
Title: Re: Perth CARAVAN & CAMPING show
Post by: POD on March 15, 2012, 02:56:16 PM
Yeah, WDH has made a big difference to the on road behaviour of the car and the van - very happy with it (after I cleaned, sanded and re-painted it all!). But had to put a lower hitch on it and it seems so low! I still have the old tow hitch so I can put that on if required off-road. Thanks!

(You're still horrible though!)

So who went to the show today and emptied their pockets?

What did you buy and did you get a good deal?

We came home with a CGear floor mat for the annex area, some tyre deflators and a 1kva generator...

Planning to go on Monday due to work commitments and also to try and nab a last minute bargain.

What generator did you buy and how much was it? Any freebie extras with it?

We ordered a fiamma awning and privacy wall saved about $320 bucks. Some stands had good specials, others were advertising show specials that were retail prices. We saw 2 waeco stands about 25m apart one was very cheap the other not discounted at all. Pays to still look around

We went on Saturday early and left around 2ish, Our first " show special " was paying $4 for a small bottle of water  , we got a small hanging self for the camper , some more rubber jigsaw matting for the shower tent , kicked a few tyres on a couple of Coromal Magnums . We had to make a quick retreat from the Tvan display when we saw the price tag , I had no idea they were worth that much  ??? ??? ???
