Okay have a feeling that this is a dumb question but what do I use this for?

I tlooks to me like the end of a sitting bench. If it is near a campground, there was probably two of them at some stage, and a plank of wood between for a seat. I could be wrong but that is what it looks like.

Looks like a boot scraper to me. Scrape the sole of your boots across the top and the place your through the opening and scrape each side, one at a time. :)

I've said it once before and I'll say it again ... It's what ever you want it to be ... somewhere to leave the CO lid so it doesn't get dirty ... somewhere to fall over when you are :cheers: ... something to stop you driving too close to the fire as long as your wheel is in it's path ... something to leave things against ... something to wonder about over a few :cheers:

Never a silly/dumb question . This is a hitching rail for the famos "Mountain Small Horse " not big but very strong . Hence the robust construction :cheers:
