Title: more or less
Post by: disco1 on February 19, 2012, 08:33:53 AM

   Hi

It seems that we have just about covered all the requirements for the trip but for those that are not taking a camper
how much water should we carry, i know it depends on size of family etc just trying to cut down on extra weight.
   less water more xxxx.

Hi Mauri ,
As I am doing this years trip without the C/T I will only have a 20ltr drum of water on board and some drinking water for while driving. Every night we will be camping at clean, clear fresh water creeks. The 20Lts will be there in case of engine overheating, blown hoses or such like.
cheers duggie

Every creek we cross has water you can use to shower , wash or boil to drink. Regarding drinking water you can take small bottles and top up at places along the way.

I would carry 1 jerry can for water if you can.
