Hello all,
I'm pretty new member who has been scrolling and scrolling through the site. Basically trying to learn as much as I can before we spend and buy our very first camper trailer. I have seen that it is easy to spot the top quality trailers (expensive) lol which i would love but I have a tight budget so unfortunately will have to probably go for a ct with an imported tent ( I know they are frowned upon by many) as we prefer a semi decent trailer which I feel I can do a lot of upgrades myself. And If we do go an imported tent,, is there any that don't leak? or any1 can recommend?
This is the deal, we love camping esp me but i have a 2 young kids under 3years old and a wife that seems to have to have a powered site, so for now we are stuck just going to camping grounds. So the trailer I need will probably never go off road.
All advice welcome,
Cheers Ant

Hi Ant, welcome to My Swag.
Dosen't matter what type of camper you have, being out there and using it is the important bit.

cheers all,
being an ex grunt (army) trust me I'm use to the outdoors and camping just not with so many comforts lol,
I'm thinking that a second hand / pre loved might be a great way to go.

G'day & Welcome Ant.
You don't necessarily need to go with an imported tent, in fact it might be counter productive, as IMHO their design is not as friendly as most Aussie tents, making then harder to erect. If it is easy your wife will be more comfortable.
Two more tips I'd like to offer; set up all your lighting as 12V, even if you're mainly using a powered site, this way when you do get off the grid you're already setup for it.
Take plenty of whatever your wife likes to drink.
Also, you won't be a noob for long mate, let me know if you ever want to update your user name. ;D

Welcome Ant,
I agree with going second hand. We did with our first CT and it was the best thing as it was pre-loved in great condition but best of all it was a very good off-road trailer with a great aussie made canvas tent and was a fraction of the cost of a new one.
Have a look on the trader section on this forum and also on the http://www.campertrailers.org/camper_trader.htm (http://www.campertrailers.org/camper_trader.htm) site also as you never know what might pop up.
Good luck...... :cup:

Hi Ant and welcome.
Perhaps purchasing a generator might get you out of the caravan parks?
