I'm after a couple of largish inner tube to use for the River at Easter. Where would I find them.

Hi,
I got two at a truck tyre repair place in a country town. One is a tractor tube, the other is a truck tube, the price was right too.
cheers

Any tyre service should have a variety of second hand tubes for river use. Get a 16inch one at least for larger kids . Try and get one with a rubber valve stem. Most will have the long or short metal stems for use with split rims. Smaller car tubes will do the job for small children.
Get some silver tape and wind it around the tube a few times over the valve stem to flatten it against the tube and prevent it from scratching the user.
Expect to pay $10 or so!
Great Fun.

You might have to try a few places. I went looking for some truck tubes a while back and went to every tyre dealer in town. All said they are very rare now because most truck tyres are tubeless! :'(
Found a servo and they had a big pile out the back. Owner said to help myself. I found four good tubes and went to thank him. He then gave me, free of charge, valves and caps for each tube. I told him I don't mind paying, but he would not hear of it, just said to make sure we have fun. :cup:
Now that was great service.

265/70-16 tube with a tr13 valve (short rubber) is best. Most tyre shops should have them on the shelf or easily ordered
