What do you all do when you have organised a camping trip away for a long weekend but it has not stoped raining for two weeks?????

Having been on more wet trips than fine I am comfy in the knowledge that if it does rain, my tent and setup is waterproof ;D,
and that I will have an additional full days work to dry the tent when I get home :'(

Depends on your state of mind, if it is just you and your partner, a wet trip can be very relaxing provided you can stay dry and warm.
Go prepared and have fun.

Check the reports. More due? Is it heavy?

The amount of rain you've had there, I'd probably be staying home. Try again next week.

Pace up & down the hall, check the sky for breaks, get bored watching the cricket & tennis. Finally grab the umbrella & take a lomg walk in the rain.

Now we are cut off by flood waters until probably Tuuesday or Wednesday....think.....I.....will........go.......mad!!!!!!

Hi Rod,
Not much you can do, we're like Hemi, cut off from most places atm. Twice a day we bundle ourselves into the cruiser and drive around town looking at the flood waters, yesterday I drove out the road about 20k's just to get the old hot and blow the cobwebs out. probably do the same thing to day.
I had only cleaned out all the crap from the shed just before Chrissy, there isn't anything to fix or do on the camper or the cruiser., all my work tools are cleaned, sharpened & packed back in the work trailer.
Guess it leaves more time to surf Myswag  ;D

I still go.  Weather is always different where you are going compared to home.  If it ends up being a wet weekend - well so what.  A bad day camping (or two) is better than work or home in my opinion.

Hi Rodsswag,

If you aren't stuck in, then I'd be going camping.  You are only on this earth once, why spend your later years regretting not getting out there due to some precipitation?  If it's not hailing, blowing a gail or torrential precipitation ... why wouldn't you go?  The Man is debating camping next week, but I'm keen to go ... just a matter of where.  We've had rain everyday here for a week or more.  I don't see the problem drying canvas while I'm at work.

A bad day camping or fishing outshines any other day by a long shot!

Hey rod we were like u amamoor sf got closed on Wednesday so camping was cancelled, so on Thursday as we were debating cooking a BBQ dinner we decided to repack the trailers and headed for " the springs" 4x4 park near Warwick. We arrived about 10:00 that night and went to bed then all it did was rain on and off for the rest of the weekend, we"re home now just means a little more work to clean up but we had fun and the kids had a ball and I"d do it again next week, we just decided we wanted to get awày with so many days of together.
