Hi fellow swaggers,
The good wife has been onto me to build a pizza oven outside. I however, have my thoughts set on a BBQ pit though.
So, to help win the argument, and for some top ideas, please post up pics of your BBQ pits and outdoor cooking set ups.
I only have a limited number of bricks for this, so only one will be the winner.......(lets hope its me)
Cheers all and thanks in advance.

Or you could just buy a Weber Q

Hi D4D,
have a Cadac safari chef, Cobb premier, and a gas BBQ. (Plus portable cooker)
No,the good wife wants me to 'build' something, its a house warming present for moving into our home....... somehow to cement our stability of our previous nomadic/backpack lifestyle........
Cheers Paul

I went with the pizza oven, although it hasn't seen much action lately. You can do any cooking you would do inside & camp oven stuff as well and of course the best pizza ever.

I no it is not exactly what you have asked for but have you considered a kamado(http://img.tapatalk.com/3aa3afb5-e228-cc0d.jpg) we have a kamado joe does great steak and pizza. weigh about 80kg made from ceramic I think it is best of both worlds, up and running at cooking temp in 15 minutes, uses charcoal and you can smoke food in it to. In the states they cook ribs for 18+ hrs

Not that I had any pics to add to your argument but I think you'll get more use out of that oven, looks good by the way. I wish I could have one

RAYM thats a nice pizza oven. The wife thought so too,..damn!
Have not seen the Kamado before, looks interesting. Ceramic and ready to cook in 15 mins. Sounds too easy.?
I like the idea that I can also incorporate a spit roast rotisserie also at some stage and also have the ambience that comes with the open fire/outdoor cooking and sinking some beers while stoking the fire/cooking.
D4D thanks for the link. I was travelling when that thread was running so didn't see it. Some great pics there also
It seems I have to build it so. She seems to think that having something fixed like that, I am more likely to stay put for a while.

I wanted a pizza oven but I went the kamado due to the heat up time friends have a pizza oven and they said it can take a few ours to get the right temp.

Yes it does take a while to fire up for pizza but we use it more for roasts etc so that does need as long.
I am still thinking about a fire pit as well but I have plenty of other gunnados to keep me busy
