Bit of a ripof the RTA. Mines down as a Box trailer so only comes in at $56 i think.  when others pay more for the same thing,, depends if its listed as box or camper trailer..

G'day,

My CT recently cost $238 to rego + pink slip.

Not sure why they are so much more expensive, but the inspection is just because it has brakes.
Would love to have it changed to a box trailer and pay the lower rate.

Cheers

I'm NSW

7x4 Box trailer with tent on top last March, rego'd as a box trailer & was $56 (give or take a couple $$$)

For our Cub - this was new NSW rego from ACT rego (which was a painless 1 hour excercise)

just make sure your insurance is happy with it being a box trailer... also check your insurance doesnt have it as a box trailer as some here have found out

Renew registration for mine in August. $56 fee + $97 motor vehicle tax. Mine is noted on the form as  "BXT". Inspection is required.

I also have a box trailer, renewed rego at the same time, Rego Fee $57, no motor vehicle tax, no inspection (also noted as "BXT" on the rego form).

My CT is insured as a "caravan" with CIL. I have discussed it several times with them but they insist that is correct. I have also made a claim without any hassles.

Hi Guys. Paid my camper trailer rego on the 22nd June 2011. Rego fee $56.00, Motor vehicle tax $100.00 Total $156.00.
Checked the RTA site,it is few kg over the minium weight. {5 or 10 kg} so I was up for the  $100.00 motor vehicle tax.
Tare weight is 260kg, it is registered as a box trailer. It all depends on the weight.
Regards Old ned.
