Last trip some members used their own personal items to assist all of us to enjoy a great trip and added an extra cost to theses members.
These included snatch straps, fuel etc
So I propose a good will fund that is put aside to repay members who use their own personal items that assist us in crossings and getting us through some of the toughest tracks on the trip.
This will only cost $20 per vehicle and paid at our first nights stop at the lions den. These funds are put aside just in case we need to replace items that are wrecked and to cover fuel for generators that are used to share power.
At the end of the trip any monies left over will be evenly distributed back to members.

Interesting thought, I know we killed a snatch strap pulling everyone through Nolans so I would say it is a good idea.

Got my vote

A kitty!!!
No worries here. A very practical way to handle it.
Do you reckon $20 is enough? Maybe have an understanding that kitty will be topped-up if needed.......

Mark shouldn’t it be that the Toyota owners put $20 up to reimburse the Nissan owners for al the recoveries they will have to do. >:D >:D
-
I'm in for that.
regards, Chris.

Mark, Although I cant make it to the trip I reckon that is a great idea. I've just had a strap destroyed by someone else and then been left with the replacement bill. ??? ???

P.S. for those who start a Toyota vs Nis nis (yeah - whatever that other brand is) - each time they need towing - a fine payable to the RFDS ;D

Don't worry there will be some special fines and clothing to wear when I deem a member has done something wrong !!! ;D

I honestly dont think that $20 is enough. $50 is more like it.
-
A strap is only $100 or so worth.
We have 30 something vehicles in on this trip, I'm sure $20 each will cover it.

After the last Cape trip when Yogi returned home we did have to replace the alternator and have the winch rebuilt/serviced - so this sort of stuff does add up in the end. But as Yogi did say he knew what he was getting into and the strain on the vehicle and parts.
He would do it all again :cup:

I believe all that needed Yogi's services should take up a collection and help pay some of Yogi's expenses.
I know I would gladly pay for the times he winched me.

Top idea. Count me in to.
