Can anyone send me pics / advice on where they ran the wires for the Anderson Plug / Brake wires to the rear of the vehicle (i thougt I read somewhere you could run inside the chassis rail - but when I look underneat all the wires seem visible) and where the brake controller has been mounted in / on the dash?

I cant answer about the controller. But I have done my Andersen recently and I am assuming your going to the tow bar. I tired for ages to run mine through the Prado chassis, but it was a PIA. I ran it down the passenger rail, because this was the shortest route from the battery, but I f**ked up cos it was full of obstructions and I should have run it down the other rail. If I can be bothered undoing it and redoing it at some stage I will. But I ended up with a pretty neat run down the top of the chassis rail all the way to the back. I just whacked a 50amp fuse in near the battery and went from there. I used heaps of large cable ties and they went through the chassis rail where possible, and around where it wasn't. I have checked regularly and it hasn't moved anywhere as yet. Probably a pretty amateur effort........but its worked ok so far.

NOt a pathfinder owner either, but I did the same on the Hilux. Down the passenger side chassis rail, on top where practical. Whole length is in another protective (slightly) layer of corrugated tubing. Rub points have some 19mm Poly garden hose for extra protection. 50amp Maxi fuse at the batt to stop the cable from welding itself to something should it get disturbed.
Just make sure your anderson is out of harms way, so a dropping off a rock ledge or a stray rock from the wheel wont hit it an destroy it. A saw a mates install and he was "advised" by the autoelec to pop it on the bottom of the towbar. It's well and truely in harms way and whilst it might sound like a remote chance a flying rock will hit it, if you are 4x4ing and you drop off a small ledge onto your towbar, smash goes the anderson, and the power to the CT!!
On a related topic, can anyone cast an informed light on Brake controller location. I understood it must be able to be operated by the driver, and as such, passenger side of the console was generally considered a no-no? other than common sense, is there a legal requirment in any state/territory/fed law/rules.

Don't think there is a law for placement, most of us habe the brak econtroller fitted in the ashtray location or under the dash next to your knee.
I prefer the ashtray.

I originally had mine mounted under the dash just under & to the right of the steering wheel but kept bashing my knee on it so got it moved to on top of the dash next to the A pillar.
As for the Anderson Plug wiring, down the top of the passenger side chassis rail as it was wired via an isolator which was installed in the back passenger side of the engine bay.
Unfortunately I have no pictures but will try to take & upload some tomorrow

Hi Pete, keep an eye on your Anderson plug as it seems a bit low. Could be taken out on rough/rocky ground.
