Title: Hi from Brisbane
Post by: owg582pdu on December 17, 2011, 03:27:36 PM
Hi,

just joined. Lots to learn
Picked up our new Jayco Outback Hawk last Tuesday.
Planning on a few weekenders and then get ready for a trip to the Top-End next Winter.
Looking forward to reading about mods to Jayco's and Solar Panels.
Still debating whether we will need a stone guard?

Hey mate, what do you think of the jayco annex and bedflys.... we looked at them and decided to go with the kakadu as they look far better quality..

I don't have a Jayco Outback Hawk, but the photo of the skirt looks all the world to me like it's upsidedown! Flip it over, and the 'flap' should line up with the steps. Wada-ya-rekon? Possible? Or am I still pis**d?!

A weekender somewhere close to Brisbane, maybe Wivenhoe or Somerset?

Latest Mods: Hyland Hitch replacing the ALKO Jayco one so we can open the back door on our Pajero.
PurpleLine EGO so we can park the Camper under the Carport in our backyard.

First Practice Run last Weekend: 706Km with 12.71Ltr/100Km economy in the Pajero over the Easter Weekend around Northern NSW.

Stayed at Yelgun Rest Area (9), Grafton Showgrounds (38) and Burringbar (7)

Went to Brunswick Heads, Maclean, Grafton and Ballina

Practised setting up & pulling down - found we left the bag end flys loose, with out the poles on the bitumen sites. Just tied them off to the Draw & Bumper bar.
This assisted with the heavy overnight dew.
