Ok, after 250 posts, and One profile name change, perhaps its time to put a post up here.
I stumbled onto myswag in April this year, and have found it as addictive as many of you.
SHMBO and I decided 12 months ago that we had better start enjoying ourselves as the girls had both left home for jobs and uni. We used to spend a lot of time on the road with the VN Commodore with a 6x4 trailer on the back in the late 80's and early 90's when the family was young. Time to get out ther again.
We replaced our old 1985 Hilux with a slightly newer 95 Rodeo with all the goodies (Gas, Winch, UHF, etc - ex NSW Police unit then owned by a fastidious mechanic owner). We then trawled ebay and other sites looking for a good second hand deal, and then finally decided that a new Ezytrail Jackaroo offroad suited our needs. So, for 15k, we had both a vehicle and CT.
We've since tracelled to SA twice, once to Robe (dont you just love that beach driving), and once to Wilpena via Broken Hill. We actually saw a lot of swaggers heading to Wilmongton during that very windy week previous, but we didnt call in as we were due in Adelaide (where a daughter lives) on Grand Final day.
Im a North East vic boy, whilst SHMBO hails from South Gippsland. We have worked, played and looked at the high counrty for the last 20 years (but there's still something about that desert country that intriuges me).
Anyway, have booked into GURichs feb hig country trip, looking forward 2 meeting those going.
As Ive tried to post this topic twice before and lost the lot, Ill cut my losses and post this text and then come bac and post some pics, coz I kno:
:worthles:
Cheers, Mace.
