Bought one in Brisbane through eBay a few years ago and it works great.
Do a search on hot water systems and you will read about quite a few swaggers who use them.
Cheers.

Now I am in the shyte for ordering something else ;D ;D
Answered the Missus with "But Darling, we got the money back on the Oztrail Mega suite, so it almost cost us nothing" ;D ;D

Use their own tactic against them I say....
"but darling these are normally twice the price, combine that with the strength of the Aussie dollar and we actually saved more than we spent"

we've used a similar type (may even be the same one, 2 of my mates own them) many times before when camped on the beach, a 9kg gas bottle lasted nearly 2 weeks with 4 families having showers each night. only real problem we had was if it was windy, the pilot flame would go out, but put it facing away from the wind or a wind break in front of it and problem solved.

I had heard a rumour that Ebay had placed a ban on these chinese hot water units due to ongoing safety issues. Looking at the link and doing a search it appears that there are no longer any Australian based sellers listing these. I can only see them in Hong Kong and China.

Have had one of these, earlier model, for about 4 years now and not had a problem. Like all things if set up properly and maintained well they will give good service.

Had one for a while now, no worries at all, would get another. Complete Campsite sell them as a cheaper alternative now...

Australian Importer (http://www.ausj.com.au/WaterHeaters.htm) I used.

I'd like to know how Outback Jack transports his unit. All those bricks must weigh a bit.
Kettle or pot no good? Mix hot and cold in a bucket and use one of those 12V shower thingies that always break down.

Currently using the 6L version on the CT, all good so far, the ability to regulate the temp is great but would be careful that children are supervised.
-
The guy we bought ours off through ebay is no longer on there. But he does have his own website http://www.ausj.com.au/InstantGas.htm (http://www.ausj.com.au/InstantGas.htm)
Ours is the 6L one and has been great with no issues what so ever. I extended the shower hose so the unit could be further from the shower tent and also have a longer gas hose. I hooked up a 4.3L/min pump ($60 at BCF) with garden hose to run water through the unit.
They are a bit more expensive now as well.
Cheers
