Title: Double stretchers
Post by: gphcald on December 02, 2011, 04:30:25 PM
I am looking for a double stretcher for me and the wife (not a blow up mattress) that is rated to at least a total of 280kg or 140 kg each side. (I know jenny craig can help ;D) I have looked at BCF, rays out doors, oztent, anaconda and cant find one. Does any body know where i can get one?
Regards

Gerry

I slept on my mates last week, not to bad, typical air mattress feel. Felt sturdy enough. He got his from BCF.
The only ones I saw on their site were the Wanderer Stretcher Royale (http://www.bcf.com.au/online-store/products/Wanderer-Stretcher-Royale.aspx?pid=132527#Description). The mattress is tied. clipped to the stretcher frames to stop it moving around. I'm sure he got them for cheaper. I will ask..
Renno

Just checked, "They had them on special for $119 as a set, in a catalog."

To be honest I am not sure that I have ever seen a double stretcher, when we started out (before the camper trailer) we used to just push 2 x single stretchers together and put a cable tie around the legs to keep them together. Admittedly there is a pole between the 2 sides which might prevent the spouse invading your space (among other things).

Id did a quick Google and found these:

We have a queen size "stretcher' type bed which has a concertina type base.  The mattress is inflatable but then fits into a cover type arrangement which is attached to the base.   The whole kit comes with an air pump and is transportable in a bag on wheels.  The bed has done duty at various locations when people needed an extra bed for guests, camping etc and so far (since 2005) has stood the test of time.  It is also very comfortable and doesn't feel like an airbed.
Next year we will be taking it on an extended trip as we have two friends sharing the c/t with us.
Sorry no pics at this stage but I know these things are still on the market.
