I have bought all my families and friends a stainless steel double walled drinking mug by avanti (trying to think of the name of the style) I bought one for myself fell in love with it, it so great to drink out of, keeps the tea nad coffee hot, the cold drinks cold. Bought myself another to keep in the camper permenately and one for everyone else, will have to but other stuff to go with it, but ordered a heap from Peters at Kensington on line. Got delivered to the door. zhow good is that!

After 10 years of little aths, and 5 years of Soccer (where both home and away games meant 4 hours travelling), I know where youre coming from.

Fortunately, there is a life after raising kids.  We're just starting to enjoy it.   Stay focussed!!

My wife went out and bought herself a new watch today.

When I asked her how much it was she said it could be her Christmas present from the boys and I (I'm not looking forward to the VISA bill!!!).  At least I don't have to do my usual frantic X-mas Eve shopping spree now!!

What would I like - I'm not really sure, but I know what I will get: a shirt, tie, and socks.

We're having a brickie coming around to build in our new stainless steel BBQ with hood.  That's our pressie to each other.  No need for anything else. BBQ's all year long (when we're not away camping).

For the rest of the family we try to buy small but meaningful presents: a personalised calendar for Dad (you make them online with your own photos) and the promise of a wildflower season camping trip for Mum.

My brother has no sense of community spirit whatsoever, and so we have bought him an Oxfam Unwrapped gift - which is two goats for a village in Cambodia. They are great presents and maybe he will learn something (or not?).

Scott and I have just booked the Triton in for a dual battery system, canopy and new UHF. That's our xmas present to each other financed by the tax man. The daughter and her boyfriend are getting a double swag so they will stop pinching ours, and some gear for their new home. The 21 year old son is the problem - I haven't got a clue what to buy him  ???

Got a 12V rattle gun for Dad-in-law who worries that he isn't strong enough anymore to change a tyre.

DH went to ARB on Saturday  'to get a winch extension strap'.   As soon as he came back he locked himself in the spare room and emerged with wrapped presents for me.    I haven't seen the extension strap yet.  Wonder if it's under the tree  ???

The inlaws bought us a Weber Q 220 for the swan - got it early and had its first camping trip at Neurum creek on the weekend. That thing rocks - the 6 burner at home will only get a look in for large gatherings other wise it's the weber all the time.
SWMBO got a Nesspresso machine for the camper when we are on power
I've got bike racks for the roof of the camper and some $$ for a couple of mods - pole carriers & volt meter.

But best of all we get about 16 nights away in the camper!!!!!!  :cup:

Since selling my homemade wooden boat (like the idiot that I'am) Morag and I have always wanted either a canoe or Kayaks for fishing the rivers that we frequent.
So after seeing a couple of these in use at the last FNQ camping trip we decided to each get one.
It is the Eco Mahi Recreational Kayak
Of course thier being $200 off at BCF didnt hurt none either.
We also bought the seats and paddles to go with them.
Now we will get each other and the boys some stocking stuffers and it will be done for this year.
Oh and hopefully I will still be building a canoe during this wet season as well.
Merry Christmas everyone...

It was magnificent, seared to perfection on the outside, an even red all the way through, with just enough juice to mop up with chips :)

Mystq mate it is called a kamado oven but the brand is kamado joe. it is made by very thick ceramic and it's weight was about 80kg. it uses charcoal and you can add wood chips for extra smoke. So far it is amazing, have roasted turkey,s seared steak at 500 to 600 degrees, yet to cook low and slow but they can hold a low constant temp for close to 24hrs if need be. it is a great alternative to a pizza oven that can do so much more.

If you feel completely comfortable owning that vehicle and can't find a jack big enough, I've heard besser bricks are really good to stack under a jack to allow you to lift the vehicle.

Note: Besser bricks will only work under this vehicle, Please don't use besser bricks under any other vehicle. ;D ;D ;D ;D
