Title: Next years MySwag Cape trip fuel question.
Post by: mystq on November 17, 2011, 05:35:11 PM
Hi all,

Me and the missus are really looking forward to next years cape trip, I was just wondering will I need to carry jerry cans, or is there fuel along the way?
Cheers,
Richard.

I went this year, running out of fuel isn't a problem, even for my mate who has a 3.8l Pajero.

yea, fuel is easy, maybe a bit expensive in some places but to me that's part of how it goes. (So was beer by the way but who cares)

We are also Petrol and while I have 170ltrs there was no time I needed to have had that. I just did because I could and we were spending say 5 days along the OTL and going up and down a few times to see different things.

Richard there are plenty of fuel stops.

Cook town, Musgrave, Coen, Archer River, Bramwell Juntion ( normally the dearest) and the start of the otl. Most fueled up at Cooktown and Archer River as the most klm between these places are about 150 klm at the most.

Once fueled up at Archer River you will do the trip to Seisa no problem. If you want a Jerry can it will be all you need.

Hi , I must agree that there are many fuel stops on the way, I did find that Coen was far far cheeper to buy from than the Archer, only 60 k,s different and a 10c per litre plus saving.
