Yeah it does not look the best Rich not that it bothers me to much camping out in the weather but the kids will be sad as it was a camping trip with a few other families

it may well put a dampener on the numbers attending the leisurefest

Darn I need a few things for the GQ but it could also mean more of a chance to win one of the prizes  :D

Going Friday... hopefully not too wet but then again gives us a chance to try out the wet weather gear if it does rain.....
Cheers,

Great to hear you got some goodies pac's, looking forward to following your install.
I stopped of at a 4wd shop yesterday and picked up a winch extention strap,  the owner of the shop went to Bendigo and said numbers were down a little on last year.

We combined a weekend away with leisurefest.

We headed there on Saturday morning. Seems as though the weather kept people away early but certainly by the time we left at midday the carpark was a lot busier.

I must say compared to Sandown it was a lot more leisurely (pardon the pun).

Picked up a bunk bed (spinifex) from anaconda for the kids for half price ($80) and a shovel/spade from 4x4 equip.

Overall enjoyed the morning....would love to go to one of these without kids where i could spend hours and hours.

Only negative...got back to the car/trailer to find some Knob had decided he wanted my anderson plug connection and took a knife to it.

Honestly, what is it with people???

Low Lifes!!!!!

Thats one more reason to never take a 4wd/anythingdecent to these shows...

Bloke few yrs back at Jeffs shed in a GQ came back to find that his back windows had been stolen - Rubber frames and all! Another had his fridge go from inside his 80 from Wandin...

Add to the 100 odd ariels/spottys gone over years.

rubbers used to be $500 per window... cheap I say considering they last 15 years.

You make a very strong case Lost.

I would've left the trailer at the caravan park BUT check out is at 10am (because they have to clean the grass before the 2pm trailer arrives!!!!) ;D

I'll keep your advice close at hand.

I guess nothing should surprise anymore.

Hey Mark
Wasnt having a go just one of those things that Shit me to tears about people these days.. How much is an anderson plug to buy? $10 a pr? why cut them? if the bloke hung around and said he was going to cut them off, you'd be happy to buy him a fawkin pair of plugs to save you the hassles (you sorta know what I mean, in reality you'd flatten him)

Its one thing that keeps me away from these shows... Nobody respects anybody else anymore.
Add to that nothing is cheap anymore at shows, takes hours to get to the carpark at the Caufield show, and they charge you up the arse to get in, it should be free - they want your money. No point taking bits off me before i get in,  wont have enough to buy anything in the end!

Lost,

No offence taken. If anything you raise a valid point, obviously based on prior knowledge  of the sort of s**t that goes on outside these events while we are inside enjoying them.

I never thought about it previously but I guess if I was into pinching things then why not wait and go to a show where you've got a smorgasbord to choose from.

Agreed re pricing etc but I did find the bendigo show more relaxed and enjoyable than others.

Lady at caravan park gave us a 2 for 1 ticket so cost my wife and I and 3 little ones $10 to get in and did save a truckload on the stretcher. On the other hand when I bought my 4x4equip shovel the guy said show special $95 and when I asked what they sell for normally he said $94.95. They probably need to make more attractive deals to get the people through.

G'day Rich,

Stayed at golden nugget caravan park.....and that's another story in itself.

Here goes....

Booked on Friday a drive thru site for Friday night. Said to the like I wanted grass not slab. He says no worries I'll just move a couple of bookings around and done.

We get there and the not so friendly lady tells me there are no drive thru sites left. When I tell her that we booked one she says they have lots of people come thru and coz we were only staying 1 night others who stay longer get preference.

When I ask her why take my booking then...... All of a sudden she finds me a drive thru site. I think she then felt guilty and offered me the 2 for 1 ticket to the show.

Won't be going back there again!!!
