As title mentions Pats new show is currently on 1HD, it is based in the Victorian High Country.
Cheers

Seems the missing adds from the mag have shown up on chanel Pat. ;D
-
I didn't mind it, I'll be back to watch it again ;D

x2
I think it works well with the mag, as long as someone reminds me it's on. ;D
-
It was ok, could do without the Cooper/ARB/Tvan/insert brand here ads during the show. Good camera work although the high saturation starts to get annoying.
-
Don,t tell us to much still watching it in Qld
-
Damn, missed it and forgot to record it. How was the show, time to set series record on the t-box
-
Just turned it on in Darwin. Only missed tthe first temn minutes.
Thanks for the heads up.
Cheers, Chris
-
Not a bad show, but I have this strange compulsion to go buy a TVan and a Patrol now.....
-

If they are an actual commercial break, I can handle that, you can pause it for the 5mins then FF.
If they are 90% of the show, then <insert in anus> the thing
-
For those who missed it I believe it's on again at 3.30 Saturday.
-
i think its sunday 3 pm chanel one
-
Season Four, begins airing at 5pm on November 11th on ONE & repeated at 3:30pm Sunday the 13th(check your local guides
-
Also, Season Four of his TV series begins airing from this Friday, which will feature the Victorian High Country (Beyond Hotham footage).
This will be aired on OneHD this Friday the 11th of November at 5pm. If you miss this, it will be repeated on Sunday the 13th of November on OneHD at 3:30pm.
Our Nissan Beyond Hotham Facebook page is live, I would suggest checking it out and if you’d like to join – just send a friend request. Steve Belli posted some great photos of the 2011 Nissan Beyond Hotham event yesterday (Thanks Steve).

Just watched the 1st episode, not too bad. Very informative about the destinations, good tips and techniques, excellent footage. Ads are on par with other programs, overall happy will watch again..
-
Sorry guys, I can't agree................ >:(
While I loved the footage of the high country it seemed to me to be merely an "infomertial"
Monotone branding of sponsers products.
On a side note, damn I'm jealous of his gig :-[ :-[ :-[
I had to get a real job (which sucks)
Good on him for doing what he's doing. He's not a bad bloke at all.
I just didn't like the whole advertorial style of the show.
Sorry
Brian
-
Watched episode 1 on OneHD today. I quite like it although agree that it's very advertorial in parts. Still, I like the product reviews most of the time and the rest of the footage is very good. Pat's a pretty good presenter too.
I have all of the previous series on DVD and will probably buy this series too.
Cheers, Sam.

Why not be like the rest of us and register to win next years model. Oh wait don't do that cause I want to win it. ;D ;D ;D ;D cheers rellbell
-
I was going to complain about all the adverts too, but then I remembered that I didn't pay a cent to watch it.
-
Reality is ads will always be with us, watching tv, reading magazines, watching DVDs, watching Austar, etc

Reality is ads will always be with us, watching tv, reading magazines, watching DVDs, watching Austar, etc
but... but foxtel tell us next years footy will be ad free... it will probably cost you $8000 for the season, but ad free. ???
-
i went to Bendethera and didn't get home until 9.30 last night, so missed both airings :'(
-
I really enjoyed it, even the product reviews!!
-
I liked the show, the product reviews, the tips and even the corny quote at the end "keep the shiny side up"
-
Just a reminder for those that can, to set your TV for Pats show on Friday at 5pm.
Cheers

Its thursday, It's on tomorrow!

Interesting no one has utilized technology with SMS.
The opportunity to SMS people regarding tv times and specials they are doing.
They should have a mobile phone registration for this.
I know some people may not like this but if you don't .....don't register.
Just my thoughts from a marketing idea.

I actually love watching Pat’s shows and I really enjoyed tonight’s show on Moreton Island.
BUT! >:( The one big annoying thing about these types of travel shows is that my long list of places to go just keeps getting longer!
So many places to go, so little time to do them. ;D

Replay this Sunday 10.00am on one HD

Replay this Sunday 10.00am on one HD
Thanx, home @ 5.00, but the dog wanted a walk. Wat she sais goes. didnt start watchin till 5.45.
-
Yes the Moreton show as good , but the advertising gets a bit too much I reckon ....
( Sure I would say everything I have is great if only I got it for nothing too ... )
Like getting bogged to show how good the max trax are ... Only thing was he was bogged right up against some hard sand so he only had to go the distance of the max trax to get on firm ground ... how many sand hills are like that ???? And since when does digging out under your tyres stop the diff from pushing through the sand , which is how you get stuck most of the time anyway ???
Sorry for the rant , but my recent experience with mechanics suggest that people in the media should not " endorse " anything , because if it turns to poo then that magazine looks stupid ... ( hello... Roothy ? )
-

looking at real photos and stuff of members on trips on this forum does that for me :(
more like so many places to go, there'll never be enough time ;)

Yeah, see wher u coming from. I guess its the old information vs education experience.
i can acceps some stuff like that, but not a whole hour.
guess its like a mag, how much advertorial can u accept.

Youd have to live to 100 @ eleventy!!

Just watching replay now - would rather be on Moreton myself right now but this is certainly better than Everybody Loves Ray, or any other tv crap you could care to name :)
Once again, you don't pay to watch this stuff, so tolerating the ads can't really be that hard... can it? For every person who's already all kitted out there is one who isn't, and shows and mags are a great way to find out what options are out there. I just learned a bit more about the Coleman hot water system, which I have been considering for a while - in fact what they just showed during the show was enough to seal the deal for me. So, Pat get some bucks to help produce the show from Colemans, I get to watch the show for free, and Colemans gets some bucks from me - everyone wins :)
-
I just watched the Moreton Island show. Don't get me wrong, I do think Pat is doing a great job, but Hello ... 1 hour of driving up and down beaches was just a bit too much. So I didn't get to see the camp grounds, I didn't get to see much of anything. I think it should be renamed Pat C's 4x4 Sponsors Advertorial Show, as that was a poor effort to advertise a destination (wasn't that the reason he was there?). All I saw was an sponsored advert driving up a beach, another beach, and yet another beach. If it wasn't for the lighthouse and the concrete cupboard ... it could have been absolutely anywhere. At the beginning he said he'd show us here, here, here, here and there ... but all I saw was sponsored product placement driving up and down a beach.
It didn't impress me much.
Haven't been able to get a hold of the magazine, as it seems none of my local newsagents are selling it, but I don't wish to subscribe till I've had a good look. Might have to see if the library has a copy.

Fair call, Kit-e.
I know that Moreton has at least one creek crossing that is iffy at high tide - it would have been good to show it, with some info on the risks. It would also be worth showing such things as what parts of the island have good views, a bit on driving ettiquette when going on and off the beach at ramps, some footage of actual campsites etc. This is a different market to the 'Queensland Weekender' punters, who only need to know which way to point the Golf on Saturday morning - this crowd wants the gritty detail on destinations. Are there sandflies? Should we take both sand pegs and ground pegs? What UHF channel is popular in that area? Etc.

Pat's show is about to start!

The Kimberleys'

Don't think it's going to compare with CTA's Kimberley :cup: DVD somehow ... Hope I'm surprised when I finally get to see it.

Missed it again, can you send the reminders out about 4:30 please!
-
Isn't it replayed at 4.00 pm Sunday ?
-
Gee there are some top things to see in the Kimberley, the redarc smart battery system, the Cooper tyres, the Icom handhelds, the Cub campers, the OME suspension and I only watched half of the ad, I mean show
-
Don't get the show here in Tassie, is it worth buying the DVD's?
-
There tends to be a few negative threads about shows like Pat’s and the Gall Boys, but I quite enjoy them. I don’t mind the ads as I usually have an open mind and learn a bit and without them we would not be able to have the pleasure of watching them on free to air. I would love Pat’s DVD’s, but money is a bit tight at the moment, saving for our next big trip! :D
So if anyone wants to get me a Chrissie present, Pat’s ‘Ultimate Christmas Pack’ would be nice. Kev

If it wasn't for the ads he wouldn't be able to get out there and show us what we want to see. Personally I don't mind them and sometimes even find them informative.

It was interesting to see the new Coopers are called "A T threes" .

Just watched the repeat. OK I admit that was a great episode, seemed to be less adverts too. Oh and the WeberQ bit was good :)
-
Just got home I missed it this week..
-
Can it be watched on the web somewhere?
-
Pats show is on in 20 minutes. Time to grab another beer and put the feet up for an hour!
-
Tonight is the nsw mid north coast
-
Shows on in 5 min for the Queenslanders ;D
-
It was another good show tonight. I'm either becoming imune to the infomercials of they are getting fewer.
-
I tried to watch it but between the adds and his presenting style I could not watch the whole thing.
The bit about the hardcore experienced driving tech required to drive on the beach ..then he just drives off the beach..I am all for explaining things well but come on mate go and actually do a decent track if you want use words like extreme and hardcore,
Then his example of dual batt systems ..well that was it i had to switch it off when i saw him use the cig lighter plug for his fridge.
but i am a hard audience and find it hard to sit still in front of the box at the best of times, so he's prob not that bad ,but I don't rate him .
Then agian he gets to do it for a living and I try to make a living so i can go do it , so i guess he wins ..LOL ;D
Jetcrew ;D
-
I find his "to camera" stuff a bit cheesy, but I thought the night drive stuff where he was behind the wheel talking to camera was good - you could see the whites of his eyes open up.
The "set peices" such as recovery work are a compramize, however, I guess he has to work within timeframes and what he's got at each location.
to me - the destination content is good, Im gonna put the Wauchope area on my 2do list. Timbertown looked great.
I guess he's still finding his TV style, and having at least one 4x4 show on TV is a big plus.

If it gets 20,000 more people to go and get out there then great job done. Jet, I also get a bit uurrgghhh watching some of the insert bits but we have to remember were a small percent that have set ups almost just right, have spent Months on the road and know that it works. I think those thinking about thee first, second or third trip away would be quite excited about what they see on the show. I've always liked Pat and in real life he goes as hard core as any one, well used to but I see where the show is pitched and unfortunately if we he was to show any track chewing up the Green Mob would be go into a frenzy - catch 22.
Anyway, aside from Graham Cahill (SP) on 4Wd action I think he is the best 4WD host and way better than Roothy these days.
NB: No opinions were hurt in the making of mine own 8)

I'm a bit tempted now - I hadn't seen or looked at the new Hema...might be on Santa's list next year.

I'm a bit tempted now - I hadn't seen or looked at the new Hema...might be on Santa's list next year.
My issue is it needs to be about $500, $700 is a ripoff considering the device costs $100, the maps $100 (their cost) plus some R&D $ for the custom menu interface.

That was a great show. Add another one to the old travel bucket list. :D
Western Australia is a really brilliant state. ;)

For those that don't get One HD , there could be some good news ...

Have to wait and see.
