So I've been thinking, when we get our swan, we thought we would bring our portacot and put it on the dinette when it's converted into a bed for our baby to sleep in. But Ive been thinking about maybe making some sort of bed net similar to what is already on the bed but one that goes all the way to the roof and so I can put the baby ( who will be approx 17 months when we get camper) in the bed and won't have to worry about bringing portacot, so in essence I want to make that whole bed into a large portacot if that makes sense?
Has anyone every done this or seen it done or have any suggestions?

Ps if your wondering why I don't just use the rail that's already there, its not high enough, he is not even one yet and was able to climb over!

My wife recently bought this sheet thing that wraps around the matress and it has two pieces of fabric in the centre that have velcro on them. You place the baby in the centre and wrap the fabric pieces over the baby and velcro him in. He can still move his arms, legs etc but can't roll or move around. I'll see if I can find the name of it.

Thanks D4D not sure how my little man would go with that, he is certainly a roller in his sleep and I think he would wake through the night if he was strapped in as such, but I'd certainly like to check it out, thanks :)

In our Eagle, we used to sleep the 'roller' on the floor in the table area.

OK this is it http://www.safetsleep.com/
Our boy kept rolling and hitting his head on the cot and waking himself up ever hour. Fitted this and problem solved.

my daughter was travelling at 6mths old and we just put the portacot on the bed in the old swan we had then.

Thanks D4D :)
Yeah that's what we are going to do if my idea doesn't work!

Our 21 month old will not sleep in the portacot! He's been in a single bed for a month or so now and we've bought a blow up mattress for him when we go camping. Netting from the roof down to enclose would never have worked for us...he would have burst the seams/zip trying to get out! Our son is a very active sleeper but has not fallen out of bed once...maybe look at putting him in a sleeping bag on a mattress??
