Post by: Quent on November 01, 2011, 09:38:27 AM
Hey everyone, we spent and awesome weekend away camping with some family and they noticed a small spot of mould starting on our canvas and were wondering what the best way to remove it is, we thought sugar soap but it doesn't seem to be strong enough so I thought id see if anyone else had some ideas?

Thanks eveyone

Get some "Oil of Cloves" from the pharmacy. Add a few drops to about 500 ml of water, spray onto the canvas using an atomizer, then allow to dry. That will kill the mould, preserve the water proofing, and won't stain the canvas. A soft brush may help with removing the dead mould from the canvas.

I have used white king in the past, mixed 1 part to 7 parts water from memory.
