Not about to complain any more about hammering in the odd tent peg after seeing this set up where we are camping in Crowdy Bay National Park.

There are some people that I swear spend their time on a 3 day trip doing the following:

- 1.5 days setting everything up, tinkering with it, adjusting, readjusting, adding more poles, an extra side wall, more poles, more ropes, adjust, readjust, add a tarp cover, adjust.....
- less than a day sitting back looking at it
- Then the last 0.5 day packing it all up..

A good mate told me a cracker story of a guy with a huge caravan setup at a Van park in NSW, who every day without fail, would go around, pull out each peg one by one, wash it with soapy water, dry it, then hammer it back in.

Freaks!

Pete,

Had a similar setup with our tent, but we had/have an excellent tent and didn't ever consider a tarp over our tent for 10 plus years(still looks new).We did have a tarp setup with spreader bars and rope as an awning  adjacent to the tent and it took about 4 to 4 1/2 hours to setup. We also used a 450mm x 12mm masonry drill the holes for the tent pegs.(will post picts one day)

The new camper trailer with annexe, front room, and front awning 1 hour.

How I don't miss the tent.

Mike

We had a big 8 x 10 metre tarp over our tent pre the camper trailer but never did we put a pole on & rope down every eyelet - if was about every 3rd one & never had any issues with that. If we were just doing a weekend, did not even worry about the tarp

It's either an aviary .... or a circus tent.
