On our last trip away I came across a lot of wildlife but 2 have got me a little bit stumped as I have tried to find them on the net but havent found excact matched. This snake we saw on the road between innaminka and Jackson mine. It looks like a carpet snake but yet looks totally different to the ones we have here at home and that bird well No Idea what he or she is. They were very calm walking along the banks of the Cooper. Fishing and shrimping all day long. Any way if anyone can tell what they are that would be great. Thanks

Can't help with the snake but the bird is a Rufous Night Heron

The bird is a" juvenial rufous nankeen" or" night heron",not sure on the snake

The snake is just a common carpet snake ... glad you didn't run over it .

yep carpet snake, different colour most likely to adapt to his surrounds better

thought she was a central spotted python, they have a nice temperament once you get to know them;0
