The new Ford Ranger is on the show room floors in WA, we are on a short holiday here from Qld. Have not had a test drive but pretty impressed with it, it does just stand out at you.

They do look good. Wonder if they changed the clutch design ???
-
I was keen on one for my daily driver, but Ford couldn't tell me when it was going to happen so I was reluctant to put money down. Had I have known it was this close I would have waited. Oh well.
Looking forward to some real owners reviews. Hoping it impacts on Hilux sales.

There is a good review at www.caradvise.com.au

Do they come standard with a vomit bag? looks like a Ssanyong humped a Hilux
Cheers

Looks pretty good, may have to add that to the must look at pile when ordering the new work ute.
 Cracka

Looks like the 4wd has dual wishbone with coil front suspension AND a six speed auto for the 3.2diesel.
Sounds like a good combo. I've put 75000 on my work ranger and its been good. The only letdown has been the shocking ride from the suspension and the 5sp gearbox issues.
The supercab with the suicide doors is a great compromise between single and dual cab for the kids when needed.
And an 80l tank. About time, the 55l in the current one sucks.
-
I like it, the front looks like it is modelled on their bigger utes in the US
Side profile looks like a hilux

Checked with a dealer today,A nice looking rig, nice interior, they did not have one for a test drive, but looking at the spec pricing.
I wanted a 6 speed manual super cab/chassis hi rider 2wd with rear diff lock....I can only get auto with no rear diff lock, they do not make that combination...bugga
I can get auto, super hi rider 2wd, no diff lock...34K + on roads...
Over the next couple of weeks I will check out the Mazda unit, as it is the sister of the Ranger
So far...the 4wd krautmobile has the inside running.

Ahhh......THe Hilux is the humper thanks very much.............

It got a really wrap from drive.com.au (http://It's for a small start-up company, initially one user, 1000 records and will grow slowly from there…looks like salesforce.com gets expensive when looking at mass email and email campaigns….) but they're not an authority on 4wds IMHO.

What year is yours dazzler ? Mine has a 65 litre tank and with over 700kms per tank thought it was pretty adequate .

Whats a Ford Ranger? Is that like a Law Enforcer at the Ford Factory...Henry T's mate?

09 xtracab 2wd. Normally get around the 520km per tank. (well the light is on around the 48l mark)
A good bus overall.

I saw a truck loaded up with new Rangers at the car port in Port Kembla the other day.
Must be some of the first ones come into Aus. They looked very nice up close, base models mainly though.
Looks much nicer than the ugly sitter BT-50 equivalent.

I just took a 2wd XLT for a run, nice and roomy inside and drives well, still a bit noisy but it is a diesel. My only issue is its just under 5.4mtrs long, which is more than my garage so I get to keep my money that little bit longer

I had a drive of a mates XLT 6spd man 3.2. Feels like it has heaps of grunt, a very strong engine..
As for the tow bar, Ford have/are designing a new tow bar as it effects the departure angle. They also realised that leaving the keys in the ignition overnight sends the battery flat...
Other than that..very nice but also heavy on the price tag.
-
given the popularity of Jooliaaar at the minute, you would have thought ford would have rethought calling a car a Ranga

And also voids your insurance if the car is stolen ... Nit picker !!!
P.s. What's a ranga ?

Naaahhhhh, I may be biased but the Ssangyong is nicer to drive on Long distance trips, 800+ km per tank too ;D
their turbo diesel engine is as silent as a mouse

The sheila running the country!
