Title: Intresting email from my work place
Post by: Crisp Image on September 18, 2011, 07:54:22 PM
This email made me chuckle a little bit.
Only names and places have been changed to protect the stupid innocent.
Here it is.

All,

I have been advised by our service provider, The local motor dealer, THAT DEBOGGING should not take place
with a vehicle equipped with a ATOMATIC TRANSMISSION, because of the likelyhood of damage
to the transmission clutch pack, due to overheating of the transmission oil. rebuiding the transmission
is an costly exercise.!!!!

Regards,

The Fleet Manager.

Now for a start Can I have an atomatic transmission? I have no idea what drives it but it sounds good.

Assuming they mean automatic transmissions I was wondering what do we do. It could be read that you don't recover a vehicle with an auto or don't use a vehicle fitted with an auto to debog another.
Do we as the general public just leave vehicles bogged because there is only autos around to debog?
This is all to do with snatch recoveries.

Is there no common sense anymore?

Regards

Well it is plainly obvious they have used the old technology fission atomatic transmission.
Fools.

You wont get these overheating problems with the new fusion type atomatics.

If its a fleet rig then it should have a sound system in it so you can turn the music up loud . Then you wont hear the auot disintergrate .

Mate I work in a mine and would be lucky if the radio buttons work to tune.
And we only have manual vehicles in the mine at present. The only autos we have would be the managers vehicles (that very rarely get dirty)
And to make things worse we are going from cruisers to patrols and we in the mine know they wont last but the management wont buy 200series. We run 100 series and have been getting them second hand from the defense force for a few years but they have now dried up.

So next time when you are bogged (what will never happen off course) you have to hope that the other car is not an atomatic. :-)

Isn't debogging taking the filler out of the roof/panels on your old Troopy?
