Ok, I was just flicking TV channels and saw a 4WD winching. Yes it was Home and Away.

come on mate just flicking surely there was something better to watch......
-
Home and Away.???? no great loss then... ;D
-
Rich says "flicking" ... what that really means is ... "I was watching my favourite show when ..."
-
all jokes aside, GU Rich is right, young teens just learning how to drive, just getting into 4wd??? I yeah saw that on Home and Away, this is how you do it......
-
I'm recording it to my T-box 8)....
If the Ep appears on Yahoo 7 watch it and judge for yourselves ;D Call it research :D
-
.....just ensuring applicants for this year's Darwinian Awards ;D
-
I agree. The world could do with less of the type of people who watch home and away...
-
Call it research
I call it ... rubbish.
The producers of this show like to say that their show covers current and relevant topics ... and yet couldn't be bothered to research correct winching techniques?
Shame, shame, shame Channel Seven.
... although, it is Home and Away not the encyclopedia of winching.

On a similar theme, did anybody see Top Gear last night when they pulled open a locked farm gate with an Amarok and snatch strap? No wonder we have a bad name >:(
-
I love top gear but the Australian one is absolute crap................................
-
those flamin kids
-
I bet that they were wearing hats, had bad manners, no PPE and eating cup cakes. ???
-
Well there you go. I just wasted another 8 mins of my life reading this...Good to see we are raising the bar ;D

;D

Yep, I got sucked into watching the boof head Aussie version of Top gear. I thought hooning up narrow bush tracks, and doing jumps over erosion humps with the Amorok was bad enough. But snatching open a locked farm gate with one of these guys standing next to the gate is just plain wrong. I realize it's all set up. But it was not funny, and just a bad look.
-
Yes it was set up for sure with a thin bit of chain that you could break with your hands. Plus it & the lock still had a shine on them . . . . . . .
Still a bad look & the way they drove down those tracks they are lucky to have backs left. . . .

isn't it only 12 year old girls and....welll Rich, who watch home and away anyway???? So do 12 year old girls really care about winching????
 Cracka
-
I think the producers directors and writers are away more than they are home ;D

You sure your not watching Bold and the Beautiful again Rich? ;D

The scene between Jason Donovan and Kylie Minoque, where they had a lovers tiff, is second to none.
-
I loved it when they played 'Suddenly' by Angry Anderson at their wedding...
-
Dan, that was Neighbours ;D

Did you watch E-Street too???
No mate, didn't that go for an hour. I didn't have the attention span.
-
I reckon Rich is more a 21 Jump Street kind of guy
I would of thought BMX Bandit
-
I reckon Rich is more a 21 Jump Street kind of guy
Yes thats something I did watch ;D, Fuller, Penhole....
-
The onscreen chemistry just works; Jerry, Kramer and George - it's really great. They do the American accent so well for a show shot on Palm Beach NSW.
-
I would of thought BMX Bandit
Definitely bmx bandit, Rich is the only bloke I know that has bragged about some toughs on a pushy in the last few years.

I have it on DVD! Goose, PJ and Judy!
Dave yes I did buy a Tuff off Ebay, It's a Skyway 2.
-
OK I'll admit to seeing that on H & A, yep he stepped over cable, wasn't wearing gloves he also wrapped the cable around the tree and hooked it back on itself, no tree trunk protector, OK he was about to drop the poor 80 series 50mtr to it's dead, so he was a bit rushed.
-
Missus had recorded it and I'm going out on a limb and saying it was all safe, if you listen to the sound of the winch motor it wasn't under load.....
-
Yep but to the average newbie on the street that might not have been obvious.

I totally concur with the above opinion ... I don't even think it was real rain ... or a real cliff ... but that bloke operating the winch ... Now That's Real (nice) ... and he Was in a tad of a hurry ... he had 30 seconds to get that 4by unstuck and back to the hospital ... and he also borrowed it from some drug selling (but real nice looking) River Boys who are more interesting in thumping each other than purchasing tree truck protectors ... I mean ... do drug sellers actually have 4wd's with all the kit? ... I thought they'd be more into those low to the ground fastish kinda cars ... oh and don't forget that bloke he saved was bleeding to death from a wound that 2 bandaids could have covered if Alf didn't take off in the SES vehicle that had the bandaids ...
Kit_e ;D
Loved 21 Jump Street ... don't know what it was about ... but Captain Jack Sparrow still looks great!! :-* :-* :-*

It's so sad that Tegan died during the great storm last night. Brax better look out because Jakes gang is gunna get even. ;D
Look out cause Gypsy is back in the Bay. :D
-
So what happened to Number 96 or The Box
-
I treat all winch cables once spooled out and connected to the bogged vehicle as "live". Therefore once connected NEVER step over the cable, whether under load or not. Accidents do happen! And winches (like snatch straps) can be VERY unforgiving ... I am aware this is a soapy and not a informative documentary, however I still think it is silly to have shown it ...
Cheers Chippy :D

They moved aside for The FJ Holden (http://www.collectingbooksandmagazines.com/fjholden.html)
-
I will send an e-mail to my cousin as he is one of the writters of either home and away or neighbours but if it is home and away and if he did write this script I mite have to drag him away from a coffee shop and get him dirty to give him 1/2 an idea on how this 4wd thing works

I believe in an upcoming episode Alf gets a CT and starts to wire it up with ebay solar panels and 2.5mm domestic electrical cable and DC-DC charger. Also he installs a lead acid car battery in the back of his wagon next to the gas 9kg bottle for his 3 way fridge. He then goes camping in a NP with his dog and pulls out the chainsaw to cut up firewood to cook a roast Koala in the camp oven during a total fire ban whilst watching Neighbours on his TV being run by the generator.

Now that made me laugh mate. ;D
Is Home and Away a "fictional" show or a "how to documentry"? ???

It must be fictional I have been driving around for years and still can't find the Summer Bay and its caravan park ;D

Must be Rich. No country town could possibly have so much going on in real life.
