HI and welcome k1w1,
I look forward to seeing some photos of your Kiwi camper adventures.
I have wanted to get over to NZ for a long time. My wife has some family in Palmerston North, Welly and Christchurch, so seems like a good excuse to do a tour.
I would love to put my rig on a ship to get it over there for an extended trip, but the wife just wants to do the tour of rellies and resorts or possibly let me hire a camper van.

:cheers:THANKS FOR THE WARM WELCOME OOPps caplock on. Touring NZ is great just finished a 21 day trip around the south island in 4x4, camping mainly, covered 4000kms took 900+ photos. Cost of getting your rig over here would be prohibitive better to just hire and cruise

Hello again mate, did a stint on the Nth Island ( job related) home based at Wanganui and did w/end trips up through the centre Taupo, rotarua ( excuse the spelling i'm an aussie) followed many rivers and lakes , stayed at back packers along the way and never saw one camper or tent user the whole time i was there( jan2006) W.T.F those rivers and stream we could only dream of.
Did the tourist thing on the Sth Island with another couple, years later and hired a car and stayed at lake side resorts and cabins for 3 weeks touring,... and much the same just 500 grafitti painted Toragos filled with young singles , majority dutch and Swedish girls... again W.T.F, probably 1/2 doz thats 6, sorry six, sorry ;D you know what i mean C.T's, and 400 camper vans ... now that part of NZ is GODS country + i would recommend that place is a must for the bucket list of places to go to.

G'day & Welcome K1w1.

Gidday k1w1. from another kiwi.
I'm based in Cairns, been here over 15yrs now, but grew up in Wgtn.
Camper trailers are all the go here compared to the motherland.
We usually try to get back over every year to catch up with family. Last couple of years, did the motorhome thing (road maggots...). Damm good value as long as it's not peak season.
