Who is going to the Sydney 4WD Show 26 - 28 Aug at Eastern Creek???
I'll be there Saturday. Plan to walk out with a new Bushman fridge and anything else I need that Mrs Snow will let me have. ;D ;D ;D
Just look for the twit with a big grin wearing a Myswag cap.
-
I'll go Friday. ;D
-
I might have to give it a miss this year. Those things always cost me money
-
Friday ;D
-
Sunday unfortunately. Would have preferred Friday.
-
We will be there Saturday
-
I'm hoping to get over for a look around, not sure which day yet.
-
Saturday for me
-
hoping to be camping next weekend. but if not I'll head out
-
Friday is the plan,,,,at this stage anyway... ;D
-
Would prefer Saturday but looks like it will probably be Sunday. At least this show won't cost me as much as the Sydney Caravan & Camping show a few months ago
-
We will be there Saturday
x2 - Will give you a call when we get there!

Went today and it was a great event. Much smaller than the super shows, so don't expect too much. It was about the same as last year's event only this year the highlight was Roothy and the gang from 4WD Action, my Son was beside himself when he saw Milo ;D
Overall, it was ok, especially love nosing around all the campers and getting ideas. As usual, there was nothing much of a bargain (except my free 4WD Action magazine). I was hoping to get some electrical items, but they were dearer than other places so kept on walking.
And good to catch up with some of the club members :cup:

We were thinking about it but it's a 3 1/2 hour run for us one way.
May have been a good day out but the wallet would of copped a hiding i'm sure, last time we went to a show "just to look" we came home with a camper trailer might be best for the budget to stay home. ;D
-
Just got back from there!
Little disappointing actually ... not really sure what I was expecting. Lot's of tents from ARB, Ironman, camper trailers, an Indian 4WD stand, nick-naks ... plus the 4WD track. You can't take your own 4WD around but it is run by guys who donate their trucks and time. We went around in a 3ltr Patrol towing a CT ... effortless! Should really join 4WD club????
Bought a shower tent from Anaconda for half price, really wanted to get a recovery kit (snatch strap etc) but 'twas all too much.
... still, better than sitting around the house.
Now for the Tri Nations ... GO WALLABIES!
-
I'll be there tomorrow, come say 'Hi' even if you aren't into Jeeps :)
This was before it opened this morning

Mission accomplished and came home with my Bushman fridge. ;D ;D Was also looking to pick up a new compressor but the only one that looked the goods was the Bluetongue but it was a little steep $$$ wise on the day. Still hunting for that elusive value for money reliable jobbie. 8)
-
Snow, ARB one mate, might be a little more $$$ but won't let you down
-
We went, had lunch with CRW and family, had a look at the conqueror campers - most impressive!
-
Hey Lindsay, conqueror said please contact them as they said some lady by the name of Linda wanted to cancel your order WTF!!!
-

??? Carl, the ARB fridges are good and so are the Engels but I settled on a Bushman. Complete fridge package and a 3 year warranty for a great price. Looking forward to loading it up and heading off in a few weeks.

What can I say Carl, it seems that this Linda person has habit of interfering in these highly important issues? Especially when lots of money is involved!!!!!!!

projecta typhoon, i saw them at the show for $150.. great price. it's portable, in a plastic case, but i mounted mine permanently in the draws in the back of the 4wd.
also, i don't think the bushman is settling at all.. that is a great fridge!
i met up with Brody and Megan, and their little bub Sarah..
also saw the riff raff there - CRW.. >:D
i didnt spend any money.. which is surprising, i did like the look of the ironman swag though. and almost bought a cheapie compressor from those solar boys at seven hills.

Riff raff eh ???
-
I did see those Projector jobbies but they are the same construction as my Supa Cr@p jigger that I have had to reaffix and then replace the spring steel reed valve in the cylinder head. Pretty keen to try a different design and not go there again, especially with two cylinder heads that could let go.

Great choice Snow. I have used one once or twice and was very impressed. The collar options are fantastic and all included for the standard price.
-
My kids with Milo waiting to see Roothy today

We were expecting it to be bigger, I also thought there would be more camper makers too, but we made the best of it, got there around 10.30, left around 3.00, we had a look at the Opposite Lock stand (teeing up accesseries for the new rig, bought a new Hillbilly BBQ plate, a portable Vacuum sealer(this works a treat)
Good to see you again Snow, good fridge the Bushman.
Roothie sh1ts me too tears!!
Baz.
-
Was disapointed,, not much of a show,,,glad i used my seniors card to get in ;D
-
New rig Baz...??
You still persisting with that pommie brand or not. ?? ;D ;D
-
I missed out this year due to family commitments; daughter and i were real keen on seeing the show again this year. Anyway, the way I see at least I saved a few $'s from not going along.
-
Went today. Got there about 10.40am and left about 3.00pm. Not too bad but I expected it to be bigger compared to last year. Spoke to one of the exhibitors and he mentioned that the sites were a bit more spaced out which did give the impression of not being as crowded.
Looked at a few things. Liked the Hillbilly gear and when I got home I was kicking myself for not picking something up. Had a pretty good look at the Complete Campsite CT's after seeing Dan's the other week. Looked at some 12V stuff for ideas then hit the frog and toad.
Didn't part with any cash.

Thanks to those who dropped by the Jackaroo Club stand and spotted a certain Navara on display and figured I'd be hiding there somewhere - in plain view as it turned out.......managed to get one step closer to the goal of finding the perfect trailer....

And Adrenalin.....
And Conqueror......
Pity the only one that can build a trailer with D40 Navara wheels is rubbish above the chassis

VW amarok would be my guess
-
Went along yesterday and picked up a Hillbilly fire spike / cookstand and a 400mm frypan. Thought the show was alright but went last year too, so knew what to expect
-
Conqueror was quite impressive
You haven't checked out Explorer Campers then...? They can build your camper with D40 Navara wheels, and are top quality from the wheels upwards!

Just did a search and found your website.....Only 1 off road trailer states the type of suspension and its the one with a photo of one of your trailers suspensions and its a different type to what's listed below. Just hope you build a trailer better than your website....
I'm looking for something I can take off road with independent suspension....

Complete Campsite uses Vehicle Components in Qld to provide Suspension, hubs etc and as such should be able to accommodate the D40 Navara wheels and they are certainly not rubbish above the chassis ;D ;D
They have independent suspension and are more than capable off road in any condition you want to put them in
-
I would have thought any campertrailer place could build you a trailer with what ever stud pattern you asked for.. ??? ??? ??? ???
-
When we ordered ours, we were asked what stud pattern we would like.
-
The D40 Navara has a PCD of 6/114.3 and a bore of 66.1mm the bore is not large enough to allow clearance for the bearings used on most 12 inch drums (10 inch are OK).
All of the trailers in my short list will match track rim size and tyre for me but I might just go with a cheap import to start with if I win the eBay auction that is.
