Nice choice, our Tambo Cooper has been dragged all over Australia and never let us down. Currently in Kununurra enjoying the weather before returning to Tassie at the end of the month.

The Porta Pockets are a PVC bag with adjustable shoulder strap that can be carried around or velcro on to bed base and hang over sides. We thought we would get these for the kids so they can fill it with their stuff and take it in the car and then have spot for it in camper off the floor. Our kids are only 2 & 3 so that's why we just got the zip for extra room now and then in a couple of years when they don't want to know us they can have their own space :D

Welcome to the Tambo family Mudy,

Young Cooper, my Tambo, is only 7 months old but I've had a bloody good time with him/her.  Seriously, the after sales and service that you get from Keith and Amanda is second to none (although it is easy for them as their product is so good). Your set up sounds very similar to mine although I wish I had thought of adding the provision for the extra room.  None the less, congratulations on your purchase and here's to a successful arrival of your very own Cooper

regards

Mark

P.S.  Hope to see you on a VIC MYSWAG get together in the near future.

Thanks guys for your warm welcome
I'm very comfortable we've made the right choice although i don't like this waiting game :-[

One thing i did decide to do which tambo haven't done before is have my side lift on opposite side to normal. The theory behind it being i don't want to have to lean over slide out kitchen(a future project) to try pack trailer, also my wife is a little on the short side so it'll make it alot easier for her to do packing .and i figure when camper is up you have access from under bed and through tailgate. I'm surprised no had done this before. Is there any other makes with lift on opposite side??

That sounds like a hamburger with the lot. They are very popular on here the Tambo's and for good reason, they are a great bit of gear

Am now planning slide out kitchen and 12v system then it will really be 'hamburger with the lot' ;D but like our 4b's there is always something else >:D

Only about 5 weeks to go

Congratulations on the birth of your new Tambo Mudy,

Bugger the weather just enjoy.  Be aware that you may (I did) have some minor leaks around the stitching until the canvas is weathered - just a minor inconvenience.  The first 4 times I took mine out it piddled down.  Make sure that you fold it up in accordance with Keith's (picture) instructions, could have minor problems otherwise (PM me if you want to know more). It's a bloody great purchase that you've made, and if the comments from any owner that I have ever come across is anything to go by, it will never let you down.  Enjoy and have fun

Regards
Mark  (here's to your birth )

Come on the sun's gone down, we should have some happy snaps by now. Perfect weather to set it up and season the canvas, not too sure about the hail though  ;D

Alrighty, after much anticipation we picked up on Friday arvo and with good weather for seasoning canvas we set up on Saturday in backyard. . Was raining on and off all weekend with a bit of wind and also had my wife wet it down this morning. Very happy with tent and trailer and cant wait to start doing some mods. Taken a couple of photos just on mobile. My backyard isn't real flat so couldn't get perfect but good enough for seasoning. ;D

Just tried to add pics, no go ???, will try and work it out. I think i remember reading something about having to have done 'x' amount of posts before you can add pics???

Looks like you did a good job of seasoning the canvas.

Would pay to check the number plate wiring, mine was shorting out.

Ok worked it out :cheers:we'll truth be known my wife did ::). A few more pics at home and then this weekend is going to be awesome weather so were gonna take her out for a night or two up around Gembrook way and I'll take some more pics with it set up a bit better and with good camera.  :P

Am rapped with toolbox which i had made to full width tailer and without extra fold on side to maximise size without just being a big square box 8)

Packed up this arvo with bedding + kids bedding on top of ours ready to go for weekend ;D

We had the same tyres fitted as what we run on the cruiser 285/75/16 (33's) BFG muddy's so it has a little more clearance than std ;D

Hopefully will get a bit mud on it this weekend :P :4x4:

I couldn't justify the amount of money they wanted for kitchen (I'm sure they are an excellent unit)so I'm planning on building my own slide out kitchen. Still deciding wheather to make bearing slides(eg below) or use that chopping board stuff? Any comments

Well we managed to sneak away last weekend for a couple of nights and we are over the moon with our new Tambo ;D. Trailer towed awesome, i think we did about 50km's on dirt roads/tracks including some ruff stuff and it handled great. We also played around with annex walls and started a list of things we need to get. Its funny we've done heaps of camping over the years from the back of the car, swags, multiple tents, camper trailer and back to tents and now the new Tambo so we have piles of camping stuff but there's always something else to make life a little easier especially now with a 2 & 3 year old! The kids had a ball and we are very happy with our investment

G,Day Mudy80,you are making me have itchy feet. We have our Tambo Omeo and couldn't be more happier with it. That looks like a nice spot,is there a river near by?
Most of our camping is done in the high country and due to the current weather our trips away have been very limited but not for long ;D
Always looking for a new/close camp ground close to Melbourne for winter/colder months of the year!

PM me if you would perfer your favourite spots on the quite side.

Gday Making Tracks

We where at Kurth Kiln Regional Park, just off Scout Camp tk. There is a creek about 30mt from were we camped. There's not alot of level ground around but still a good spot. The beauty of this place is we can be there and setting up within an hour from home. :D

Next trip will be King Valley on Melbourne cup weekend

Mudy,

Ya making me jealous, I can't get 'Cooper' my Tambo out of my factory at the moment (long story -people storing stuff in my factory for a short time that is now extending to a long time - they may find their stuff out on the street soon) I can't wait to get out again, the city is closing in. One of the most comforting  thoughts I have is that no matter where I go the Tambo will follow - no hassles, it'll just get the job done no matter what.  That is the greatest comfort you can achieve from a purchase like this - quality, pain free travelling.  You are now allowed to smile the smile of a Tambo owner (a very select and happy group) :cup:

Regards

Mark
