Earlier in the year I attended the Maitland Caravan and Camping Show.
I figured at that time I had seen just about every Camper on the market until I came across this strange looking design called the " Outback Igloo" I spoke to the Business Owner who told me at the time the Maitland Camping Show was his first reveal to the public. It looked something cross between a teardrop camper, a water tank and a camper trailer. The price was pretty cheap also considering they were made here in Australia. I took a bunch of photos and certainly found the idea of them very interesting.
I figured there would have been a few people on this site that has seen them at the Maitland Camping Show earlier this year in the Hunter Valley.
Interesting concept and always great seeing new ideas at camping shows. I also liked the Hobie Kayak display at the Maitland Camping Show, nearly came close to buying the Hobie Pro Angler.

Hi,
Interesting concept (http://outbackigloo.com/index.php?p=1_2).
The corrugated steel re minds me of one I saw on a TV program about a retired couple in a Toyota flat tray researching birds in the Lake Eyre basin. They had a steel water tank lying on the tray, it had a door cut into the back, (end of the tank) and some sheeting inside to form a floor.
It was rough, but suited their needs of cheap, practical and light weight. With a bit of preparation, they could roll it off and leave it as a base camp. Very appropriately I thought, they called it their Hollow Log.

If you google " Outback Igloo" it's easy enough to find.
Cheap enough too

Really cool idea - wonder how it goes at different temperatures?
I also note there are no inside pictures!
