Hi,
considering buying a Furminator for brushing the dog (s), just wondering if anyone out there actually has one and are they as good as what they say,
we bed and breakfast guide dogs in final training, and also when they are between clients, back in for retraining etc etc
Current dog is a golden retriever over a lab and whilst she has very nice soft fur it sheds like you wouldn't believe, she goes tommorow and am not sure what tommorows "new" dog is going to be like (other than a male Lab) so it may not be as much of a problem,
sorry to see this one go but she can take her fur with her (shes only been here for 4 weeks)
if you have one which sort do have? and where did you get from? seems like lots on "Evil Bay" just seeking some comments

I have something similar ... simply marked as "Noah's" ... and they sure move the fur from dog to where ever you are brushing them. Still get heaps in the house and on my clothes and please don't look at the back seat of my car ... Collies sure are hairy things. Shed simply looking at them. ;D But they do get copious amounts of fur off the dog. And when I'm done, he's super soft and looks really fluffy and cuddly.

We were told about horse sheading brushes/blades. They now sell them at the pet store for dogs for twice the price. We bought ours for $8 at the local feed barn shop.

whilst she has very nice soft fur it sheds like you wouldn't believe
Go spend some time brushing an Alaskan malamute..... you will never ever complain again about brushing a golden retriever! ;D You aint seen shedding fur till you owned one of these dogs!

we have the furminator and use on our two kelpiex and cattledogx
works well and is about the best solution i have used to reduce hair around the house.
buy on ebay for around $15 delivered :)

Furminators are great - I know a few dog groomers and they all recommend them, even the ones not trying to sell me one ;-)
We have one and it works great on our short haired boy and long haired girl. Don't try it on a cat though

My cat's both enjoys being brushed (with my like branded furminator). Must have to start them at an early age I guess.

2 labs and we use a combo of standard brush and an attachment on vacuum cleaner (does clog things up pretty quick though)
Amen to herGu - had an alaskan malamute and when they shed its like the backyards snowed in, walk them into a headwind and they have a vapour trail!!

We have a husky cross kelpie (or whatever jump the fence). I found it best to take her to the park to brush her with that horse sheding blade, then run over her with just my hands to smooth her coat, then put her on the ute to finish the blow dry ;D
Otherwise our back yard looks like a field of dandilions in the wind ;D lol.

We have one similar to the Furminator also have one they call an Oyster rake (from memory) it good for getting out the lose deep under coat of the long hair breeds, Our boards hate being brushed with either of them but has to be done, As Kit-e-Kat said drops hair while you look at her, take me for ever to clean the PJ out after she's been in there even with cover in place.

Wifey got a ferminator for our german shepard x border collie. Best thing ever to brush her with.

Hi,
have done the deed and ordered a furminator from evil bay, the dog we picked Friday night has already 2 kilo (it seems like that much!) of fur from brushing and shedding, luckily the vision impaired / blind can't see what the dog drops,

Being home for four days after the last 3 weeks in single digit overnight temps, our boys didn't shed much at all on the trip as they were hanging onto each hair as if their life depended on it! If we didn't furminate them once home, their coats would be enough to make pillows out of! And they're beagles, so I'd hate to see what full coated dogs would do once back in warm weather after a stint in cold.
Can't recommend it highly enough, but if there's a similar product that does the job for MUCH less than a Furminator, I'd go for that next time.

guide dogs on loan only malt when they live here for a bit, they hang to all when with the client's (or so it seems).........
sur hope the furminater works
