I saw one of these at a recent field day in Emerald
Has anybody got one and how good are they.
Is it the thing to have in a camper trailer setup.
Cheers

Hi kiwial,
Just changing the subject, we have an OzPig and they are great, used 2 pigs and a washing machine tub for camping to cook for 11 of us without any trouble, they can take a few goes to get the hang of them with heat and positioning the plates, but a good investment at around $270.

Yeh i reckon they are great, and they throw out some serious heat
We had it going at Blackstumps place a few weeks ago on a cool night and it was brilliant.
Cheers BD

I think the QLD Reds had their celebration BBQ on one after they won the Super Rugby. ;D
They seem pretty good to me, though I must say the blokes I've seen selling them have not made me rush over for a good look.

Ahh wanna chup bru http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdVHZwI8pcA
Interested to know how much heat they do put out and how quick they burn as I was thinking about getting one for the shed but they look a little on the small side and not sure about the price seems a little over done IMO

Pacs ... firstly ... nice puppy pic! Love those Cattle X's. Back on track ... they throw out awesome heat! We often have to sit further and further back from ours. As for how quickly they burn timber ... we use 2/3rd's less using our OzPig than we do having an open fire. That's cooking, boiling water for showers and relaxing for a few hours. The only time you really need your timber "cut to size" is when you are cooking and using the plates (although not 100% necessary), otherwise any length timber is suitable as long as it can go through the door or in the top.
Since I purchased ours, we have only used a regular fireplace once and only then to see if the heat level was any different, we've used the pig ever since. Much easier to place them (compared to a firepit) so the smoke heads out of or over your camp. What we like best about them is no unsightly scars around the camping area, no burnt grass, no kids walking over the top of them next morning.
