Title: Rude service - Home Hardware Derby WA
Post by: krisandkev on July 14, 2011, 06:03:35 PM
Warning to anyone looking to shop at a hardware in Derby, WA  (Kimberleys).  There are two general hardware stores. DO NOT GO TO THE HOME HARDWARE IN THE TOWN CENTRAL!  Go to the one on the main road as you approach Derby. Reason is that I went to the Home hardware today to try and buy a bolt to replace one that had fallen out of our cruiser’s snorkel.  I found one that might fit and asked the person behind the counter if I could take it outside to see if it would fit. The cruiser being parked about 5 metres from the front door.  This person said, ‘You wouldn’t ask them at Woolworths if you could take something outside would you.’  I was totally taken aback and thought he was joking. He was deadly serious!  What an arrogant so and so.  >:(  I said a few kind words and left. Went to the other hardware, Mitre 10, and they were extremely friendly and very helpful.  ;D

Yeah Gibbo from Childers, how true, used to the small town service of Scaryborough, Maryville, Maryborough.  We have a 'local' family owned hardware at Tinana, and they would bend over backwards for anyone.  Kev wasn't a happy camper when he came back from the shops.  But all good now.  Kris
