Title: Hi from victoria - The Swan has arrived (pics attached)
Post by: PAC1977 on June 26, 2011, 08:27:59 PM
Hi All,

I have been a long time reader of you site, so now a first time poster. Wife, kids (2 & 4) and myself have decided that the camping thing may be for us so we have taken the plunge.  Have just taken delivery of a new Ford Territory and and playing the waiting game with Jayco, waiting for our new Swan.

The information I have gained from this site has been priceless and has helped in decision making, so thanks to all of you for that.

Hi GG,

Late August was the last I heard, but could be September. The Jayco dealer were not sure if they could get the order in on time.

Well I actually checked the mail box  today (yes it's Sunday, hadn't got around to it from last week) and a letter from Jayco telling me the Swan will be off the production line on August 18th. That's only.... 48 sleeps + how ever many it takes for the dealer to get organised (hopefully not too many).

Thought I would also add some detail about the options we chose:

I wanted the 'Outback' model, wife wanted hot water, spring mattress, and an annexe, Guess who won.
So in the end we went for:

Swan - On road model
Options:
Hot water & outdoor shower
Inner spring mattress
100AH battery
Bed end fly's
Bag awning + walls
Tap on the draw bar
Gas point on the draw bar
Drop jacks

Can't wait.....

Well an update on our Swan. Today I got a call from the Jayco dealer who is supplying our camper, it has arrived but there is one small problem. We ordered the standard bag awning but it has arrived with the Fiamma awning.

Waiting to here back from Jayco factory about what they are going to do. Not sure that I really want the Fiamma as there are so many stories about them being a bit flimsy. Any thoughts?

Fiamma is fine, checkout Teabags as he also has solar shades with his. Takes no time to wind it in if you need to.

check the width on the Fiamma, there have been a few reports that as the 2011 roof design is different on the jayco the Fiamma's are now shorter than previous years

The fiamma 45 is only 2.5 metres wide. silly Geoff thought it referred to the length and so would be a full roof length awning but he now has a really short awning.

Picked up the swan yesterday. All went well and was very happy with the service from the local Jayco dealer.

Only one picture so far, will get some more up when I can.
