Title: Jayco Dove door problem
Post by: realway on May 28, 2011, 08:55:42 AM
I have a 2007 Jayco Dove which we are very happy with, except for the fact that the door, when stored clipped under the roof, whilst travelling, becomes unhooked and drops down onto the front bed.
Actually part of it ends up on the bed and the rest seems to droop down into the middle of the camper.
I can just see it coming apart if this keeps happening.
It is held up by a couple of twisting fasteners on the roof attaching to the plastic flap at the bottom of the top section of the door.   These seem to undo themselves under way.
Has anyone else had this problem and how have you solved it.
I notice that the Goldstream has a couple of barrel bolts holding theirs up.
Any suggestions very welcome

Our twist fasteners started to become loose and looked like the door would fall from the roof
so I have just replaced them  with new ones . They are much tighter now , good for another few years . I got the fittings
from a boating supplies shop . Also now carry a couple of spares . They are quite cheap .
Cheers Paul .

I used a length of 2" webbing with a buckle looped around it as well as the little latches. Worked ok
