Hi guys just putting it out there if any one has a tent pole, whether its the inside or the out side diameter pole I only need the 90 degree bend and about 4 inches max length either side of the bend.
I have a broken pole inside my tent been broken for ages but just getting worse, have had alot of suggestions
*one is to slide the pole out and replace but it can't be done with out unstitching the full length of the tent,
*Bending my own ... packing sand and heating, besides I dount I would get the sand packed in tight enough I dont wanna burn the gal of the pole either and peta's hair dryer isn't good enough
so untill I really need to take the trailer for another major repair I want to just cut the broken bend out and re rivet one end and make a sleeve and rivet the other end which will be ten times better then the broken bend we have been using.
So does any one have any old poles laying around with 90 degree bend etc or know of some one locally without drama's to help me out I am happy to pay as well just would like to fix it before easter.
Hopefully this post makes sense and yes I have searched and found a similar topic on bending poles.

I was expecting a smart arse answer but I was shocked thanks Dan I have shot them an email

or go to a muffler shop and ask them to bend it for you
-
Could you get a pole/pipe the next size up and have it bent up the same radius, slice it down the middle and then Rivet/fix it to the damaged pole as a brace/support until you get it replaced. It could even be some copper pipe which is easily bent.

Muffler shops wont go that small which was a good suggestion by a work mate thanks though mate,
Another option that crossed my mind GG but after spending a few hours going to camping stores and not being able to find any larger sized poles and also if I am going to get something bent up I will just cut the buggered section out and rivet a new bend in as its only rivets holding it all together any way, Dan's suggestion has got legs I have had a reply from polesapart and they said they can do it have sent them pictures and waiting for reply will post up how they get on.
Thanks
Brad

i still have plenty of comment about you bending your pole etc.. etc..

I might be barking up the wrong tree, slap me down with a broom if need be, but could'nt you insulate the pole from the canvas(protect the canvas) and weld / reinforce the break with a gal sleeve for the time being.

Not with my welding skills morgue !!! After contact with the pole place in Victoria 24hours later they had emailed me a picture of my requested part and it was then on it's way to me . Will post picsonce I receive and the repair goes to plan ..
