Is there any legality issues against putting your number plate and light in the center of the spare wheel that hangs of the tailgate . i am not happy with the location of where mine is on my CT. i dont think there any issues but need to ask the question anyway .
cheers mondo

I hope not because that is where mine is on my Kamar rear bar on the Tug. I assume that if they can sell them like that for a car it would be OK on a CT.

Pretty sure its OK. Mine is there and Prick Roads registered it no problems. Its on a bit of an extension to make it sit out from the wheel. Not sure if that's important.
-
Yeah that's what i gathered but you dont know if you dont ask. i have only just finished building my CT and got it registered yesterday and because of the size tire's i am running the number plate isn't in the best place ha ha. hence why i think i might have to move it to the spare wheel.

I also have a dual rear wheel carrier and the number is in the middle of the wheel....no issues thus far.

Where it is is fine,it is clearly visable and seems to be tucked up out of the way.If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Run the question past :police:they will be able to tell you as they are the jokers that want to chat on the road side .

Our camper trailer from Lifestyle has the number plate in the middle of the spare wheel...
-
Can you see it clearly from Behind? - Yes
Can you see it from a 45 degree angle - Yes
Leave it where it is.
-
No higher than 1100mm from the ground also (last time I checked)
-
Can you move it to above the tail light?
Nice painted wheels :)
-
Yeah it looks deceiving in the photos so i got another one standing straight up and 5 meters away from the camper. if i end up moving it i reckon the center of the wheel would look all rite , if not the left side wing.

Lifestyle have theirs in the center of the spare wheel when attached to the tailgate.
I don't believe you would have any issues. The Lifestyle ones are mounted on a towbar reciever type bracket.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Rod.... 8)

Yeah, no good where it is!
It needs to be visible from 45degrees to the sides and from the top.(and for 20m back).
Put it in the centre with a light and you'll be right.
