Title: Greetings :)
Post by: Are We There Yet? on February 24, 2011, 08:17:34 PM
Hi, we are a family of 4 (2 littlies age 4 and 2) and we have just bought our first CT, a 2010 Jayco Eagle (as shown in my siggie, hopefully if it worked!)
Hubby has grown up camping so he is a bit of an expert but it's all new to me so I'm really excited about giving it a go  :D
Anyway, I've had a look around the forum and I see there are a lot of Jayco owners here so I'm looking forward to getting lots of tips. Hubby has great plans for the van over time, but for now we will just get the necessities and we plan to head off on our first adventure over Easter. Nothing too excting, just a caravan park on the Peninsular in Melbourne  ;D but it was quite hard to get in anywhere at short notice!

Looking forward to chatting with you all and any advise is welcome :)

;D Welcome.... Mind you it took to Croydon on way to Normanton until we heard that phrase, cheap DVD player...

Lots of good people here as well as good ideas, hope you have a ton of fun.  Remember to chill out and enjoy the experience, the best camping IMHO is that which you can savour and lay back.
The Kids will love you for it too.
  Paul

Thanks for the welcomes :)

We will tow it with my 2005 Toyota Kluger CV sport. We wanted to get an Outback but the Kluger wasn't going to handle it :(

Are We There Yet , such adaunting name Welcone to Myswag . Dont forget to pack the marshmellows for the mini Swaggers as they go down a treat . Hook the kids & the rest is easy .Most important thing is a pen & paper to make a list of stuff you need in the CT for next time

Hi fellow Jayco Campers

Thats the best thing a young family can do, when the little ones get older they will remember the times out on the trail

Cheers and happy Trails for you all

Hello there :)

Like your new addition, look forward to hearing of your plans & stories from your travels ;)

I second the note pad & pen, because you will change things & rearrange setups.. Good to have your notes to keep it fresh in your mind ;)

I also have a travel / camp diary, good to make notes on the sites / attractions / rivers etc..

Let the fun begin  ;D

Note pad and pen? umm... we have a whole excel spreadsheet divided up into must haves and wish list  ;D

Started today getting some of the must haves such as plates, first aid kit, sleeping bags for the kids, wheel chocks, torches etc. Going to the camping show in Melbourne in a couple of weeks' time to see what else we can pick up. I'm thinking storage containers are the way to go for lots of stuff, easier to take it in and out and great for spillable items. DH has his eyes set on a Webber Q aswell
